The Music of Route 66
Route 66 was immortalized in 1946 by Bob Troup when he composed '(Get Your Kicks On) Route 66'. The song is well known for listing many cities and towns in seven of the eight states on the way from Chicago to L.A.
'Route 66' has been covered by dozens of recording artists. It's hoped that numerous versions will appear in the 'U.S. 66' feature film.
'U.S. 66' is registered with the Writers Guild of Canada.
